Olaf Ryes Plass is a very charming and square place surrounded by interesting restaurants, bars and shops. It has a strong rich and bohemian touch which attracts many people by day and night. Some of the bars have quite humorous plates such as the one above.
Tonight Norway and Switzerland will play football against each other. Therefore Oslo is filled with people wearing bright red color shirts. It’s amazing to see how we can get so sentimental when living abroad even about football. 🙂
Last night Norwegians elected their new government. The right wing won. Not massively but still won.
One day later the beautiful weather changed from very sunny since weeks to stormy this morning!
Welcome back the weather seems to formate a big stormy party to celebrate it! 😀
This summer while Francis trains for Oslo marathon which will take place in a few weeks, I follow him by bike. We usually run and bike beside the sea during 10 kilometers. We leave Oslo city behind us, pass Bygdøy (a peninsula with nice museums and beaches), and go until Fornebu where many headquarters of the biggest Norwegian companies are such as Statoil (biggest state owned oil company) and Telenor (the Norwegian telecommunication company). The area is really peaceful and beautiful even though it’s a company area.
The picture below was taken at the beach in front of Statoil.
To celebrate Summer Oslo Tech Center and Parken Bakery (the building where I work) organized a beach party on the top of the building with a great view over Oslo. 200 persons enjoyed 66 kg of meat nicely cooked.
